Yes I know I’m a big fan of SBC’s (Single Board Computers) 🙂 so this announcement makes my Pi-day even better.
Today (Pi-day) the Raspberry Pi foundation has released an update model of the Raspberry Pi 3.

The main upgraded features are:

  • Higher CPU frequency
  • Dual band 802.11ac WiFi
  • ~Gigabit ethernet (see downsides)

Some downsides:

  • Still 1GB of memory 🙁
  • USB2 ports
  • Requires more power
  • Not fully 1Gb bandwidth (its around 300+ Mb, so it’s still better that the previous model)

The best thing is, it still cost ~$35
