First things first, lets open an elevated PowerShell session and run the following commands in order to update the installed Docker to a higher version.

The first thing is to check what version is currently installed

PS > Get-Package -Name Docker -ProviderName DockerMsftProvider

Run this command to find the latest version currently available.

PS > Find-Package -Name Docker -ProviderName DockerMsftProvider

If there is a newer version available you could update Docker with the following command.

PS > Install-Package -Name Docker -ProviderName DockerMsftProvider -Update -Force

Once the update have been updated successfully the latest thing we need to do is start Docker.

PS > Start-Service Docker

The last thing is to verify that Docker is running on the latest version.

PS > docker version

That’s all, Docker is now successfully updated and running.
